Based on CDC and FDA's comparison, it is reasonable to consider China KN95, AS/NZ P2, Korea 1st Class, and Japan DS FFRs as “equivalent” to US NIOSH N95 and European FFP2 respirators, for filtering non-oil-based particles such as those resulting from wildfires, PM 2.5 air pollution, volcanic eruptions, or bioaerosols (e.g. viruses).

Real Meltblown Non-woven Fabric THAT MATTERS

Meltblown non-woven fabric is a primary material used in the manufacturing of medical and surgical masks. This middle layer is usually created from polypropylene (PP) melt-blown non-woven fabric and is treated to be an electret. The electret treatment adds electrostatic properties to the filter layer allowing for electrostatic adsorption which helps to trap aerosolized particles via electrostatic attraction.

These meltblown inner filter pieces have been torn up and are being held together by the fabric’s own static charge.  This static charge is a feature of the fabric and provides electrostatic attraction for particles and assists with the overall filtration of particles for the mask.

  • Without pretreatment (Picking 10 Random Samples): 98.5%, 99%, 98.3%, 98.7%, 98.1%, 98.6%, 98.7%, 98.4%, 98.3%, 98.2%. ( as you can see, the filter performance of our masks without any pretreatment is over 98%.)

  • With temperature and humidity treatment(picking 5 random samples): 95.1%, 95.2%, 95.1%, 95.2%, 95.2%. ( as you can see even with temperature and humidity treatment, every single of our mask’s filter performance is above 95%.)

Respiratory Resistance Test: 

​

  • Total inspiratory resistance, Pa: with/without pretreatment (total inspiratory resistance of each sample should not be greater than 350). (random picking 4 samples): 66, 68,63,65. (as you can see, we are way below 350, all our samples are under 70.)

  • Total expiratory resistance, Pa: with/without pretreatment (total expiratory resistance of each sample should not be greater than 250). (random picking 4 samples): 78, 78, 74, 74. (as you can see, we are way below 250, all our samples are under 80.)
